About Us

Steve – result of some creativity on the iPad!

Independent Psychotherapist based near Edinburgh, in Scotland.

Current Disclosure and PVG (Protecting Vulnerable Groups). I have first-hand experience of the extra challenges that impact on families, who try to negotiate life the best they can. I dedicate a lot of time to charities who support Neurodiverse individuals.

I obtained my Bachelor of Science (BSc. Hons) in Psychology, with the Open University and completed my training as a COSCA Counsellor with Aberdeen University. I typically use a Person-Centred approach in Counselling.

Mindfulness Walks for groups and individuals; established as one of the first therapists in the UK to offer this practice. I deliver courses in Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction and Mindfulness Based Cognitive Therapy. Trained to Masters Level in Mindfulness.

Association of Open University Graduates – Presented with a National Award for ‘overcoming adversity’ to obtain my degree. I had a heart attack during my course, and managed to graduate, only with support from the University.

My interests within the field of Psychology include: Transpersonal Psychology and Logotherapy, which is linked with the traditional psychological approach of Existential Analysis, of finding a meaning to life. This work was a key part of understanding human behaviour, made famous by the Austrian Psychiatrist, Viktor Frankl – he survived Auschwitz and became a Psychotherapist afterwards.

My spare time is reserved for my family and caring duties. Retired member of The Bruntsfield Golf Links Society, and currently with the Watsonian Swimming Club. A long standing member of Edinburgh Sports Club, where my interests are in Padel Tennis and Racketball.
