We had a really nice summer this year, and with it the opportunity to get outside more than usual, as more people were mixing outdoors again. Working in collaboration with the well-known charity, Get2gether, I offer Mindfulness Walks in the Edinburgh area, and these have proved very successful.
We have visited the beach at Portobello in June, and everyone really enjoyed a couple of hours of mindfulness meditation, talking, and meeting new people. The added bonus of a free ice-cream helped soothe the sore feet from walking too!
The next Mindfulness Walk was arranged for mid August at The Thistle Foundation in Craigmillar, Edinburgh. Get2gether have their office within this beautiful building, and have access to the gardens at the rear, where we had some quiet time together.

Starting off with a discussion on Sundials and how time came about, set the scene for some very interesting viewpoints on the past, the present and the future. Of course Mindfulness concentrates on the present, however it was worth expanding our collective knowledge of what time actually means to each of us. Richard shared some insight into the connection between Mathematics and Music through vibrational frequencies. As I said, these Mindfulness Walks always bring out some very thought provoking conversations, as we explore more of who we are in our world.

We walked around the gardens, and found that although we were in the middle of a very busy city, we could find this special time together, to reflect on how busy we get in our lives. By attending this Mindfulness Walk, we opened up our senses to tap into all the life around us, and appreciate the wonderful abilities we have and also take for granted.

If you get an opportunity to stop for 10 minutes, find a quiet spot to close your eyes and take some time for yourself. You will be amazed at how refreshed you will feel and ready to get on with the rest of the day.
Thanks for reading.
