Uncertainty

All around the world, people remain uncertain about the future. I don’t know what the outcome will be, however I have continued to use some strategies to keep myself going. I want to share them with you, in the hope that you may get some benefit from this particular method.

A) Do something every day to reduce anxiety; whether it is a relaxation technique, exercising or getting in touch with some friends. This all amounts to finding some calm in your daily existence.

B) Stay informed. Decide to allocate yourself 30 minutes each day to check the Local news and for the last 5 minutes of this time, check in to read the news around the world. Try to use only trusted news channels, and look out for stories of hope and inspiration.

C) Remain positive that the outcome will be what you hope it will be. An optimistic attitude often gets results, as you concentrate your mind on what matters personally to you. For instance, you have your health, and your family and friends are safe. Money may be tight, but you have a roof over your head and food on the table.

D) Goal setting – plan 3 achievable goals a day. It does not matter if these targets are small, but important that you manage to accomplish your tasks set. Examples could be: Read the ‘introduction’ of the book you got as a Xmas present; clean the inside of your living room window; check the medicine cupboard for out of date items. For the day, write the Goals down, and tick them off as you achieve these. Reward yourself at the end of the week with something nice.

As of today’s post, I am at day 350 of practicing all that I preach above!

If you need any help, get in touch, and thanks for reading.

  1. Totally agree with the ”Happiness is… ” drawing. And, indeed, running water is must for anyone’s happiness. Add to that a book to read and I’m in seventh heaven. 🙂
